Barraud's, London, marine chronometer with 8-day winding indicator aperture, mounted within gimbaled brass tub with integrated winding key set in a three-tier brass bound mahogany box, brass drop handles, silvered dial of approximately 5 inch diameter signed "Barraud's London, No 918," KWKS, free-sprung with spring detent escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance with blued steel helical hairspring, s#918.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, light spotting and discoloration to plates; excellent dial with light spotting and fine surface scratches; fine blued steel hands with light oxide at tips; tub and gimbals in fine overall condition; three tier box is missing its top as well as its number/name plate, hinge area is not cracked or broken, a competent cabinet maker could match the top without issue, typical dings and fine scratches from years of continuous use.
